使徒行传20:35 — 施比受更为有福 — 耶稣未记载的话语
耶稣最著名的名言之一在四福音书中均未出现,只见于使徒行传20:35。保罗保存了这一口传传统:"施比受更为有福。"
关键经文
Acts 20:35
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
A Unique Saying of Jesus
Acts 20:35 is remarkable: Paul cites "the words of the Lord Jesus" — yet this saying appears nowhere in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. It is a preserved oral tradition, demonstrating that not everything Jesus said was written in the Gospels (cf. John 21:25).
The Context: Paul's Farewell to Ephesus
Paul is speaking to the Ephesian elders, his final farewell before Jerusalem. He has worked with his own hands (tentmaking) so as not to burden the church, and he appeals to this saying of Jesus to motivate generous, self-sacrificial ministry.
The Theology of Generosity
Why is giving more blessed than receiving? Giving aligns us with God's own character — He is the ultimate giver (John 3:16). Giving breaks the power of materialism. Giving produces joy, community, and eternal reward. Receiving is good; giving is transformative.
Applications for Today
Generosity is a spiritual discipline, not a personality trait. Every believer is called to grow in giving — of money, time, skill, and presence. Ask: where can I give this week in a way that costs me something?
