A través del profeta llorón Jeremías, Dios declaró que haría de Jerusalén un montón de ruinas. Entender por qué revela las graves consecuencias de la rebelión persistente.

The Weeping Prophet

Jeremiah ministered 40+ years warning Judah. He wept over his people (9:1) even as he proclaimed their destruction — grief and proclamation together, the mark of a prophet who shares God's broken heart.

Why God Pronounced This Judgment

The sins of Judah were specific and persistent: idolatry, injustice, religious hypocrisy, and refusal to repent despite decades of warning. God's patience has limits — His holiness demands justice.

Historical Fulfillment

Fulfilled when Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem in 586 BC — burning the temple, breaking the walls, deporting the people. Lamentations records the grief. God's word came true exactly as spoken.

Lessons for Today

Divine judgment is real. Yet the same God who judged Jerusalem provided restoration (Jeremiah 29:11; 31:31-34). Judgment and mercy are both expressions of His character. His warnings are acts of love.
